Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her new position she is responsible for covering everything from NASA and the recently created Space Force, to commercial space companies and the advent in space travel. Kristin's parents were both NASA astronauts. Kristin spent her childhood in space. She has also been an White House reporter for FOX News that covers the Trump and Biden Administrations on space issues. Kristin also reported on impeachment hearings for President Trump, the 2020 Presidential campaign and efforts by two administrations in order to control the Coronavirus Pandemic. The reporter also traveled extensively with the Vice President and President of the United States as well as a secret visit to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Prior to joining the network in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade advancing through the local news channels including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin's skills as a camerawoman has led her to create Field Mouse Films which specialized in making documentaries for corporate customers like Uber Hotels and Resorts as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science Diploma in Journalism from Boston University. She is currently living in Washington, D.C., along with her family members, including their daughter, who is three years old.
